Mark J. Cherny and Andrea Ellison are the founders of Locomotion Theatre. Their unique and original approach to educational entertainment has made Locomotion Theatre one of the longest established and most highly recognized companies of its kind in South Florida.

Mark J. Cherny, LCSW, is a prominent Boca Raton psychotherapist specializing in issues relating to families and children,seniors, and workplace dynamics. He is a vibrant and frequently requested speaker at both local events and national conferences. His work has been published in professional journals and featured in newspaper and magazine articles. Mr. Cherny graduated from Herbert H. Lehman College, City University of New York, and received his Masters degree from Yeshiva University. He has been in practice in South Florida for over 30 years.
Andrea Ellison has worked as a radio news anchor and talk show host, and is a journalist whose features and parenting stories have appeared in many South Florida publications. In addition, she is an accomplished singer and composer of songs for children and adults. Songs for My Daughters, is a new Shabbat liturgy and catalog of Judaica-themed songs for children. She recently wrote No Place for Hate, a song themed for the Anti- Defamation League project of the same name. Ms. Ellison studied at Mannes College of Music, attended Rollins College, and graduated from New York University.
